Give
Part of the vision at Griot Arts has always been a physical home for our programming and community building around Black art and cultural expression. Thanks to generous community support, we now have a space in downtown Rochester that is home to our city's first brick & mortar Black-owned bookstore and gallery. And we need YOU, beautiful community, to help us keep our doors open! Please consider buying books at our physical location and through Bookshop.org and Libro.fm (audiobooks). You can also make a donation at any time below.
Keep dreaming with us...
Help us open keep our doors open so we can continue to cultivate meaningful connections and experiences centered on celebrating Black art, literature, and cultural expression! Your generous financial support will allow us to achieve the following:
-
THE RENT | Let's be real, the rent is a struggle. We are currently raising funds to support our lease and utilities expenses in our new space.
-
BOOKSTORE INVENTORY | Continue to source and purchase a rich and diverse inventory of books written by Black and racially-diverse authors with a special focus on representative and culturally-resonant books for adults, children, and young adults.
-
ART + PROGRAMMING | Supports costs for artists, art exhibitions and arts and cultural programming in our space
